I BELIEVE in SCIENCE

My colleague and friend sent me this article. I read it with tears in my eyes and hope in my heart.

‘It’s a wow’: New CRISPR gene-editing success holds promise for treating many genetic diseases with a single dose ARTICLE

It is HUGE for Science, and I believe it is a step closer to an answer for my baby girl.

Paddy Doherty of County Donegal, Ireland, recently became the fifth person in the world to have cells deep inside his body altered by the gene-editing tool CRISPR/Cas9.”

Weintraub, Karen

I read the article aloud, shared it with family and friends, without total understanding of the science behind it. Understanding something bigger than science, for me, is the hope, passion, and tremendous advances that there have been in treatments and potential cures.

It seems to have worked as planned.”

I can only hope that in the future, the near future, I will be writing more promising news about my Hailey and her friends.

Stay tuned.

Video is two years old (thought it was a good explanation of what CRISPR does…)
