This is my thank you to all the parents out there. While I know this upcoming weekend is a celebration for “Father’s Day,” I want to acknowledge that it is a celebration for any parent who cares for a child. But today, on a random Thursday afternoon, I want to thank my husband Andrew. It does not go unnoticed what you do for our family.
Every single day, you get both kids to two separate day cares, work a long day, and manage to get Hailey to her therapies yourself or arrange the help from your amazing, supportive, and selfless colleagues who are our extended family.
You rarely complain, and when you do, it is usually founded (although I hate to admit it). Your biggest downfalls are wanting the house to be too neat (which, is that really even a downfall?!) or making sure our belongings are organized.
You deal with the insurance company (most of the time) when arranging procedures. You take Noah on long walking adventures and show him a whole new world outside.
The kids look at you with such love and admiration. And me, well I do too.
It shouldn’t take a designated, national holiday to recognize what a supportive and amazing husband, father, son, and friend you are. I want to take the time to thank you for supporting me on this journey of expression. Through my writing, and advocating on social media, I have been able to find an outlet that not only raises awareness, but has also been extremely cathartic for me. You have listened to me read my posts, my blog, or share new memes I create daily.
To all the fathers, mothers, step-parents, grandparents, and anyone in between- you are true heroes and all of OUR children are so lucky to have you.
Awh, how beautiful! We all have been guilty of taking our partners for granted! But it鈥檚 ok to acknowledge your appreciation any time! It鈥檚 the unspoken actions that are more important and it鈥檚 obvious that you are equal partners in the family union that you two created! You make a great team together & have a beautiful family!
